If there is one elected official who wants war with Russia, it’s outgoing Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger.
On May 1, 2022, Kinzinger introduced a joint resolution that would have United States Armed Forces deployed to Ukraine to defend it in the case that Russia uses biological, chemical, and/or nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
His website released the following statement:
Today, Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) announced his introduction of a joint resolution that would authorize the use of U.S. Armed Forces to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine in the event that Vladimir Putin escalates his unjust war against our democratic allies. This Authorization for Use of Military Force to Defend America’s Allies Resolution of 2022 would authorize the President of the United States to utilize our forces to respond to a scenario in which the Russian Federation uses chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
Kinzinger announced back on October 29, 2021, that he would not be seeking re-election. And good riddance.
Of all the Russia hawks, Kinzinger is the most shrill about getting the US involved in a direct conflict with a nuclear power. This alone, should disqualify him for holding public office. Advocating for a direct conflict with Russia is the height of geopolitical insanity.
Beyond foreign policy, Kinzinger voted to impeach former President Donald Trump and even voted in favor of universal background checks — a complete affront to the Second Amendment. Undoubtedly, Kinzinger was one of the Deep State’s favorite Republicans.
It’s good to see him leave office, because more elected officials like him increase the probability of the US not only going to war but also descending into domestic tyranny. Liberty conservatives must make it a point to purge pro-war Republicans in upcoming primaries.
