Gun Owners of America Condemns the Uvalde Shooting and the Subsequent Calls for Gun Control

No compromise Second Amendment organization Gun Owners of America responded to the Uvalde, Texas massacre with a press release that dropped on May 25, 2022.

Erich Pratt, GOA’s Senior Vice President, made the following statement:

This senseless loss of life is a tragedy, and we join the nation in mourning for the victims and praying for their families.

Today however, Left-wing politicians are playing on raw emotion to grow support for various gun-control proposals like universal background checks and increasing minimum age requirements to 21. Make no mistake, neither of these policies — nor any of those “common-sense” proposals from those on the Left — will prevent these evil tragedies from occurring; and the saddest part is, we already know this.

Instead of playing politics and saying ‘we need to do something,’ we should be discussing real solutions to preventing this type of evil from striking again, for example, by arming willing teachers which is a solution supported by 81% of police. We must also repeal the Gun Free School Zones Act, which leaves our children vulnerable to criminals and our parents unarmed to defend them. If our elected officials are important enough to receive armed protection, so too should our children.

GOA is one of the leading no compromise organizations in America and is focused on defending the Second Amendment from all threats — governments and mega-corporations. It can always be counted on to defend gun rights no matter the circumstances.

As for the Uvalde massacre, this is a tragedy of epic proportions. On March 24, 2022, a deranged gunman killed 19 children and 2 teachers and wounded 17 other individuals at Robb Elementary School. Law enforcement officers eventually shot and killed the murderer.

Like clockwork, Gun Control Inc. instantly called for civilian disarmament despite the fact that teachers and staff were barred from carrying firearms at Robb Elementary. There’s nothing magical about schools that makes them free from attacks.

Like many venues, schools are best secured by lawful, armed individuals — either armed teachers, staff or private security. Passing more gun control will only encourage further massacres of this nature to take place.

It’s ultimately free individuals and communities that will secure our schools and other venues that are vulnerable to deranged gunman attacks.
