Liberty Conservative Candidate Eric Brakey to Give an AR-15 to a Lucky Contributor

Republican congressional candidate Eric Brakey will be giving away an AR-15 to a lucky campaign contributor.

“I want to give people a gun,” Brakey declared on Thursday, October 24, 2019  .

The former Senator told potential donors that “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and my opponent, Jared Golden want to take away your guns, but I want to give you one!”

In November, Brakey’s campaign plans to give out what it calls “the ‘most wanted’ firearm by gun grabbers” to a lucky individual who has already contributed a monthly donation of at least $5 to Brakey’s congressional campaign in Maine’s 2nd District.

Brakey claimed that the firearms giveaway has already increased donations and gained his campaign more attention.

Brakey, who was a State Senator for two terms and helped pass Maine’s Constitutional Carry bill, is one of three Republicans challenging Jared Golden, a first-term Democrat. The other GOP challengers are Adrienne Bennett, a former press secretary of Governor Paul LePage, and Dale Crafts, a former state legislator.

Brakey takes pride in being a pro-gun champion. He pumps up his successfully passed constitutional carry legislation that allows law-abiding Mainers to carry a firearm without having to beg the government for permission. He believes it is one reason why Maine is one of the safest states in America.

Brakey believes that expanded gun rights puts ordinary citizens on a level playing field with criminals and makes them reluctant to commit crimes knowing that they will meet an armed response.

“Washington Democrats are openly calling for banning and confiscating AR-15s,” Brakey stated, and Golden “flip-flops whichever way the wind blows. We deserve better.”

“Functionally, there is no difference between an AR-15 and a hunting rifle. If they can take away one, they can take away the other,” Brakey said.

According to Brakey, the AR-15 is giving out is from Windham Weaponry, a Maine firearms company. He said that it costs about $1,200.

Brakey will likely pick a winner during a Facebook Live event after the gun giveaway deadline on November 17.
