Religious liberty is under attack in New York by extremist Democrats who control the state legislature under left-wing Governor Andrew Cuomo, and they eliminated religious exemptions to vaccinations last week.
“The science is crystal clear: Vaccines are safe, effective and the best way to keep our children safe.” Gov. Cuomo said following passage of the bill on Thursday.
He added that “while I understand and respect freedom of religion, our first job is to protect the public health and by signing this measure into law, we will help prevent further transmissions and stop this outbreak right in its tracks.”
Michael Sussman, a civil rights lawyer representing individuals fighting for their right to choose, noted that religious groups will be effectively criminalized because of this new Draconian law that has already caused “a lot of tears, a lot of anger, a lot of consternation.”
“My major concern is that you don’t change people’s religious beliefs by passing a law,” he said. “There are hundreds of thousands of people who are affected. The question is what’s going to happen to these people? Are we going to criminalize them? Either you vaccinate your children or you’re going to be guilty of a crime?”
“Right now, we have people who can’t go to camps, people are going to be excluded from yeshivas, thousands of people who have beliefs that are contrary to this,” Sussman added.
Patricia Finn, another attorney representing a plaintiff who opposed an emergency vaccination order in Rockland, criticizes the legislature for their anti-religious bigotry.
“I was at the hearings yesterday in Albany, and it was disappointing and down-right frightening to hear so many misguided members of the legislature spew intolerant and untruthful facts about vaccine safety and religious beliefs opposed to the practice of vaccinating,” Finn said in an email.
“A handful of cases is hardly enough reason to compel the school mandate that targets and discriminates against children unfairly burdening them with the risk of vaccinating,” she added.
One citizen who refuses to abide by this new edict is Joseph Hendrick of Sloatsburg who noted that the government is now effectively in the business of dictating religious beliefs..
“Now religious rights for everyone in the country are going to be hampered,” Hendrick said. “You have your right to interpret the way you want to in America. Your religion, you decide. Now they are deciding for us.”
Jewish schools are being closed in New York City because of the vaccine bogeyman. The tenth school was forcibly closed last week until they violate their sacred beliefs and comply.
“People came to this country to get away from exactly this kind of stuff,” said Long Island attorney Stan Yung, who is Russian orthodox, before the legislation was passed.
Because of Democrats in New York, religious liberty is no more, and the state is one step closer toward implementing the medical fascism that is forced inoculations.
