It seems that President Donald Trump is getting gamed by his deep state foes, as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was dragged from an Ecuadorean embassy by British authorities to be extradited to the US to face charges earlier today.

“Assange is charged with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors,” the US Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Virginia announced.
President Trump played dumb today after being pressed by reporters about Assange’s railroading:
Reporter: “Do you still love Wikileaks?"

Intrepid journalist Michael Tracey, one of the few liberals who opposed FBI spook Robert Mueller’s sham ‘Russian Collusion’ investigation from the start, took Trump to task all day on his Twitter account for the President’s glaring WikiLeaks hypocrisy.
Here are some quotes from one Donald J. Trump on the subject of WikiLeaks. Don't tell me he's powerless before the Deep State to prevent an unjust prosecution of Assange. He's the most powerful man on Earth pic.twitter.com/xf6OTvPyAi

The journalistic activity for which Assange has been indicted led to the exposure of extreme war crimes in Iraq: the very war that Donald Trump ran a victorious presidential campaign in opposition to. Now the Trump DOJ does the bidding of his GOP predecessor, George W. Bush

This indictment is on extremely weak legal footing. Part of what's alleged as criminal: Assange protected Manning as a source, and encouraged his source to provide government records in the public interest. DOJ brought these weak charges after **9 years** as a political statement pic.twitter.com/7GWTFUUJmb

Tracey pointed out how disreputable leftist journalists and politicos, who claimed Trump was a Russian agent for years, are now cheering on President Trump’s Department of Justice for locking up a journalist who exposed Republican war crimes in Iraq during the George W. Bush era.
Ah yes, @neeratanden is joining hands with the Trump Admin to argue in favor of Assange's arrest. Neera thinks the personal embarrassment she suffered for her private criticism of Hillary being exposed (example: https://t.co/SJAoRl0YpL) is more important than the First Amendment

Can't wait to watch the disgusting spectacle of MSNBC and Super Progressive™ Twitter personalities like @MollyJongFast lock arms with Mike Pompeo and John Bolton to celebrate the arrest and prosecution of a publisher who exposed extensive US war crimes and political corruption
— Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 11, 2019
Holder tries to justify Assange's prosecution on the ground that he's working in concert with Russia and therefore has forfeited any journalistic protections — but the indictment makes no such allegation. The charges predate Trump/Russia by 6 years! https://t.co/lM2cGK9ca7

Tracey called on Trump’s supporters to get angry and create a fervor from the grassroots to make sure their President knows it is important to protect Assange.
We will know Trump supporters who claimed for three years to be huge fans of WikiLeaks are outright frauds if they don't impose major pressure on the Administration to not unjustly prosecute Assange
— Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 11, 2019
If Trump does not act to protect Assange in some manner, his policies will be reminiscent of his most recent predecessor. Barack Hussein Obama promised he would protect whistle-blowers before obtaining the presidency.
“Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process,” Obama’s campaign wrote prior to 2008.
Obama would go on to prosecute more journalists and whistle-blowers than any President in history, abusing the Espionage Act to crack down on enemies of his administration.
Trump is also on the same page as Crooked Hillary by going after Assange and WikiLeaks:
So heartwarming to see that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have finally found common ground pic.twitter.com/jnsIgKaV5v

President Trump – by using Assange’s leaks when it benefited him and then throwing him under the bus after becoming commander-in-chief – will have a shameful record rivaling Obama on civil liberties and freedom of speech upon leaving office.
President Trump once said he would lock Hillary Clinton up, but now it is Assange who is behind bars. It will be hard to paint the Trump administration as anything but an abysmal failure unless the President has some major tricks up his sleeve if this railroading continues as planned by the deep state.
