The corporate press has become a de facto arm of the national security state due to how it helps push pro-war narratives and gradually gets the populace primed to oppose whatever country is the monster of the week at the moment.
This media power came in clutch for the George W. Bush administration in the lead-up to Iraq War 2. However, with alternative media now in the mix, it’s much harder for the regime to manufacture consent and sell the public on disastrous wars.
Hence, the ruling class’s fixation with trying to cancel dissident voices. People like former Congressman Ron Paul recognize this and have been indefatigable defenders of free speech and a competitive alternative media ecosystem.
In a recent post titled “CIA Admits Feeding Americans False Info About Ukraine”, Paul exposed the US intelligence community’s moves to feed information to the corporate press, irrespective of that information’s veracity. The whole purpose of this intelligence scheme is for the media to push the CIA’s agenda and get the public to buy into it.
NBC News recently reported on the “Deep State’s” admission that it is actively lying to the American public with the express purpose of manipulating public opinion.
Per the NBC News article, “multiple US officials acknowledged that the US has used information as a weapon even when confidence in the accuracy of the information wasn’t high. Sometimes it has used low-confidence intelligence for deterrent effect…”
The former Congressman listed off a number of the misleading stories that the media were pushing, which likely came from the intelligence community:
Readers will recall the shocking headlines that Russia was prepared to use chemical weapons in Ukraine, that China would be providing military equipment to Russia, that Russian President Putin was being fed misinformation by his advisors, and more.
The whole purpose of this info dump was for the media to parrot the CIA’s narrative despite the fact that the info was false. As an intelligence officer quoted in the article stated, “trying to get inside Putin’s head.”
While Putin may have been the target, Paul is correct in asserting that the “They [the CIA] lied to propagandize us in favor of the Biden Administration’s narrative.”
The American intelligence community is nasty. People forget that the CIA rolled out Operation Mockingbird, an extensive program in which it recruited multiple journalists to propagate its agenda during the early decades of the Cold War.

After the Bay of Pigs disaster, President Kennedy has been quoted as wanting “to splinter the CIA in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.” That didn’t work out too well for him. As Senate Majority Chuck Schumer famously told Rachel Maddow in 2020, responding to the-President Trump’s criticism of the CIA, ‘let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community — they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.’
In sum, the CIA must be abolished along with other parts of the American intelligence community. It enables some of the worst behavior in the national security state and works against the interests of Middle Americans. On top of that, liberty conservatives must always defend the alternative media space, because it’s one of the ultimate checks on the corrupt “Fourth Estate” that is mainstream media.
Without alternative media, the ruling class would be able to pursue more never-ending wars with ease.
