Thanks to Pressure from Gun Owners of America, Massachusetts Governor Reopens Shooting Ranges

On May 18, 2020, Massachusetts Governor Charles Baker issued an executive order which allowed for gun stores and shooting ranges.

In a press release, Gun Owners of America (GOA) noted that it “previously announced that gun stores in the Bay State were being reopened, GOA’s was the only case to additionally challenge the shutdown of shooting ranges in the Commonwealth.”

GOA also highlighted how “This is not the first time that legal pressure by GOA has resulted in gun control orders being repealed.” It alluded to how Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland being other examples.

GOA members in Massachusetts are elated that shooting ranges are now open.

“Not only is it essential to be able to acquire firearms in times of uncertainty, it’s equally important to have the ability to train with those firearms. That is why GOA relentlessly fought to reopen not only gun stores, but also shooting ranges as well,” Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of GOA stated. “Gun Owners of America is pleased with the Governor’s decision to recognize the importance of Second Amendment businesses.”
