US intelligence Agencies Should not be Trusted

The goal for any sober liberty conservative is to expose the depravity of American instituíons and advocate for their downsizing, if not abolition.

One of the most instrumental institutions in derailing former President Donald Trump’s has been the intelligence community. This segment of the Deep State played an instrumental role in making sure that Trump could not carry out any foreign policy reform of substance during his presidency.

One of the most egregious examples of this took place last month when the US intelligence community poured cold water on allegations that Russian military intelligence paid Taliban militants bounties to kill Americans and allied armed forces. Last month, a senior administration official admitted before a group of reporters that the US intelligence community “assesses with low to moderate confidence that Russian intelligence officers sought to encourage Taliban attacks [on] U.S. and coalition personnel in Afghanistan in 2019 and perhaps earlier.” What was amusing about all of this was how the corporate press made so much noise about the bounty story in 2020 — during election season — as a means of attacking Trump.

Now that Biden is planning a withdrawal from Afghanistan, we truly have to wonder how partisan these so-called “independent” institutions like the intelligence community are. The broader Russiagate saga and the allegations against Trump for colluding with Russia was a mask-off moment for the intelligence community, which was fully committed to derailing the Trump administration at every turn.

From machinations abroad to domestic tampering, intelligence agencies like the FBI and CIA are hubs of mischief that work against the interests of Americans. For that reason, any liberty conservative with a sense of self-respect should be pushing for sharp cuts, and if the political situation permits it, the outright abolition of intelligence agencies.
