The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and similar federal bureaucracies are taking U.S. tax dollars and using them to conduct horrifying experiments in mad science.
NextGov.com highlighted some of the “most innovative and bizarre projects” that were created in 2019 by DARPA and the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) and the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E). The feds are rapidly devising ways to take Big Brother to the next level.
DARPA started research in March to create a way to get AI systems like Alexa and Siri to teach themselves language. They want these AI systems to mimic babies, and learn language by observing human behavior. This is one further step toward AI gaining human characteristics. They also launched their Competency-Aware Machine Learning program in February to police their users’ own behavior, and detect errors in human judgment in real time.
DARPA’s MicroBRAIN program is studying the brains of “very small flying insects” to figure out ways to reduce the computing power needed to fuel complex AI designs. They are also creating technology that can detect deep fakes and doctored media, and working on creating state-of-the-art mapping technologies that would explore worlds underground without human intervention.
IARPA is working to perfect Big Brother surveillance with invasive and creepy new AI innovations. They have created the Space-based Machine Automated Recognition Technique to use satellite technology to monitor all human activity throughout the world at any given time. If successful, this technology would make the Orwellian Nightmare an inescapable reality.
They are also working on improving surveillance on the ground by recruiting teams to create algorithms that would follow people as they travel through different video surveillance networks. Agencies would be able to track people in crowded locations in real time, particularly at protests, in order to help them suppress dissent. Privacy rights are a thing of the past thanks to these devilish scientists.
“Combine this capability with long-range biometric identification systems—a technology IARPA also began exploring in 2019—and you could have machines naming people and tracking their movements without spy agencies needing to lift a finger,” NextGov.com notes.
ARPA-E is working on projects such as more efficient systems to capture carbon from the atmosphere, technology to bring down the costs of nuclear energy, and ways to improve the effectiveness of the power grid. The Trump administration is attempting to defund ARPA-E, but the White House should also consider defunding DARPA and IARPA in order to protect the Constitution from government researchers who clearly have no ethical guidelines or respect for personal freedom.
