Andy Biggs Urges Lawmakers to Open Up America’s Oil and Gas Sectors

Some of the most embarrassing moments in American history have been taking place in the past month. For example, Biden regime officials have had to grovel before despotic petrostates such as Iran and Venezuela to have them export more oil to the US in a time when it’s facing an energy crunch. Doubly farcical is how the US government tried implementing regime change schemes against these countries in the past.

Now, the US is begging them for an energy bailout. This is a microcosm of the level of dysfunction permeating in US foreign and domestic policy. In the latter case, the US has hamstrung itself by shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline and imposing energy regulations that make it difficult to increase oil and gas production.

Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs has a very common sense solution to address this problem.

He tweeted on April 15, 2022,

“The solution for any rational leader who loves this country is to open up America’s oil and gas energy.

Purchasing oil and gas from our adversaries or making Americans buy $55K Teslas are not real solutions.”

There is a strong class component to the ruling class’ hostility towards non-renewable energy. Natural gas and oil are far more efficient sources of energy that allow America’s working class to operate on all cylinders without having to break the bank.

However, electric cars are far more expensive and out of reach for America’s most economically humble citizens. As a result, any serious energy agenda would feature the federal government fully de-regulating the natural gas and oil sector.

The US is simply too resource rich and too business savvy to be under-performing when it comes to energy production.
