Eric Brakey to Launch His Congressional Campaign on Constitution Day

On September 8, 2019, former Maine Senator Eric Brakey revealed that September 17 will be his campaign’s launch date.

That Constitution Day will kickoff his congressional campaign for Maine’s 2nd Congressional District.

On Twitter, he stated  “On Constitution Day, September 17, I will be launching my campaign to stop the theft of our freedoms and paychecks, to stand up for our soldiers and to reign in Washington DC. I hope you will join me there!”

During his time in the Maine Senate, Brakey was a staunch liberty conservative who championed Constitutional Carry. Although he failed to win Maine’s U.S. Senate seat during his run against incumbent Senator Angus King in 2018, Brakey is not giving up.

He’s now shifting his focus towards Maine’s 2nd Congressional District where he’ll face off against incumbent Democratic Congressman Jared Golden. This seats looks to be competitive as Golden only won it by less than two percentage points in 2018, when he unseated Bruce Poliquin.

Should Brakey win, he would be a great addition to the liberty conservative team of elected officials in Congress such as Senator Rand Paul and Congressman Thomas Massie.
