Former State Senator Don Huffines Calls on Governor Greg Abbott to Use State Law Enforcement to Deport Illegal Aliens

Thanks to the Biden regime’s negligent border policies, Texas is confronting a veritable immigration crisis.

As a result, the state government has been compelled to behave in a proactive manner and craft its own policies to tackle immigration. However, there are conservatives figures who believe the Abbott government is not doing enough.

A new campaign from the Texas grassroots right is to have the state government declare an “invasion” under the U.S. Constitution and subsequently deploy state personnel to deport illegal aliens.

This is not a random campaign. For one, the Biden regime is in the process of lifting Title 42, a pandemic health order immigration officials have used to expedite the deportation of border crossers throughout the Wuhan virus pandemic.

As a result, there’s been a massive influx of migrants crossing the border. Several former Trump administration officials have urged Abbott to implement Title 42 at the state level. On top of that, the National Border Patrol Council has also called Abbott to implement this measure.

Abbott received a strong primary challenge from the likes of former State Senator Don Huffines, who campaigned on a muscular border security platform.

Huffines has still been outspoken about having the state take on the immigration issue head on. He cited Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich’s legal opinion, released back in February, where he declared that the “violence and lawlessness at the border caused by transnational cartels and gangs satisfies the definition of an ‘invasion’ under the U.S. Constitution, and Arizona therefore has the power to defend itself” through the state’s executive branch. Huffines believes the Texas Governor’s Office “can do the same.”

On top of that, Huffines has called for the Texas government to close off all inbound commercial traffic from Mexico in an attempt to compel Mexico to improve border security.

It’s time to wake up and smell the hot java. The Feds have no interest in enforcing immigration law. As a result, state governments have to take matters into their own hands. Huffines is one of the few elected officials that understands the game in 2022.

Hopefully, other Texas Republicans in office get with this program.
