Once Republicans likely attain solid majorities in both chambers of Congress after the 2022 midterms, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul vows to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci accountable.
In a tweet posted by Election Wizard on March 20, 2022, Paul was quoted: “As soon as Republicans get the majority I pledge to the American people we are investigating Dr. Fauci to the fullest extent of the law. We are putting him under oath. We are getting the documents.”

Fauci is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Chief Medical Advisor to the President. He has been responsible for recommending some of the harshest measures to tackle the perceived threat of the Wuhan virus over the past few years. These included lockdowns, mask mandates, social distancing, and other measures that would tighten the biosecurity state’s grip over people’s lives.
Fauci’s role in micromanaging people’s lives as the Chief Medical Advisor showed many people the dangers of unelected technocrats dictating public policy. These types of individuals cannot be held accountable at the ballot box and they will continue to abuse their power if they’re not held accountable.
So it will take people like Rand Paul to lead the charge and use the sheer number of Senators in a would-be Republican majority to launch an investigation into Fauci and ultimately get him fired. After Fauci’s policy recommendations ruined so many lives, Republicans owe it to Americans to make Fauci pay.
We’re no longer talking about a typical debate that concerns how to tackle the virus. Ultimately, this deals with Republicans finally using prudential state power to punish a technocrats that upended millions of Americans’ livelihood and helped create the conditions for an unprecedented consolidation of corporate power and a biosecurity state that would make the Founding Fathers roll over in their graves.
Not using power will only guarantee power-hungry politicians and busybody bureaucrats to continue abusing our freedoms.
