Retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor Says Biden Regime’s Massive Arms Sales to Ukraine are in Exercise in Futility

Groupthink has completely absorbed American institutions. From the Federal Reserve to the national security establishment, wishful thinking, and uniformity of thought is the norm.

On matters of so-called “defense”, DC is a virtual uniparty in its quest to use all facets of military force against countries that refuse to bend the knee to the Globalist American Empire.

In the current Russo-Ukrainian war, United States foreign policy elites recognize that a direct military conflict with a nuclear power like Russia is a death wish. At least for now.

In turn, the Deep State has pivoted to pursuing a proxy war against Russia. This type of conflict involves the US and its Western satrapies dumping a ton of military aid in Ukraine. The purpose of this military aid is to have Ukraine fight Russia to the last Ukrainian in an effort to create an Afghanistan 2.0 scenario.

There’s one problem with this fantastical geopolitical project. This aid will do nothing to change the outcome of the Russo-Ukrainian war.

On April 21, 2022, retired US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor went on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to dispel the notion that military aid will give Ukraine a fighting chance.

As a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Macgregor knows a thing or two about the realities of warfare. One thing he is sure of is the cold, hard fact that the billions in military aid to Ukraine will do nothing to prevent its inevitable defeat at the hands of Russia. The latter has too much escalatory dominance in this case.

Macgregor cut through the corporate media narrative that Ukraine is on the verge of pulling off a military upset. Instead, he noted that the bulk of the military action is taking place in the Donbas region of Eastern Ukraine. In Macgregor’s view, Russian military forces are encircling Ukrainian forces in what appears to be the “final annihilation of what remains of Ukraine’s best forces” in the Donbas.

In addition, Macgregor speculated that Biden believes his actions will bring Russia to the negotiating table.

“I really think the president and his supporting advisers believe that somehow or another, they’re going to arrive at a negotiating table in the future where they will be able to dictate terms to Moscow,” Macgregor stated.

“And that’s not going to happen.”

Should the situation in Ukraine continue deteriorating, Macgregor argued that Western Ukraine will “just become a firing range,” as the Russian military will continue targeting munitions depots and any vehicles carrying Western arms.

Macgregor maintains that Russia’s military forces’ primary focus is in Eastern Ukraine. Anytime Western material shows up in the West, the Russians target it.

“The Russians have never been interested in crossing the Dnieper River. They were always interested in destroying the Ukrainian forces – that job’s about through,” Macgregor asserted.

“So I think the sad truth of the matter is that this is a proxy war in which we’re sending large numbers of Ukrainians to die without any real hope that will attain anything of importance to them,” the retired colonel added.

Macgregor is one of the few sober voices in the military establishment. In all likelihood, Ukraine will be divided between East and West Ukraine. Russia’s military dominance is simply too much, which will result in a likely defeat of Ukraine’s best military forces in the Donbas. From there, Ukraine’s borders will be redrawn.

Regardless, as Macgregor correctly notes, the US shouldn’t get involved. There’s no pressing interest in Ukraine, and US involvement could result in more loss of life and a potential nuclear escalation.

Unlike the majority of political commentators, Macgregor has realistic political views that put the American national interest, not the interests of well-endowed pressure groups such as the defense industry, first. From immigration restriction to a restrained foreign policy, Macgregor’s views are on point.

The retired colonel is one figure that liberty conservatives should look up to and emulate. He’s a voice of reason in a fever swamp of political irrationality. Should he ever run for federal office, he would be a great addition to Congress.
