Ron Paul Liberty Report Hosts Warn About “Long Fight” with Russia Over Ukraine

Will the US be involved in a long proxy war against Russia?

Daniel McAdams, the Executive Director of the Ron Paul Institute, and former Congressman Ron Paul discussed this prospect in one episode of the Ron Paul Liberty Report titled “We’re In ‘Long Fight’ With Russia Over Ukraine. Who Benefits From Escalation?.”

The two hosts of the show were taken aback by the candor of President Joe Biden’s speech in Warsaw, Poland on March 28 where he stated that “For God’s sake, this man [Russian President Vladimir Putin] cannot remain in power.”

For some context, McAdams observed that Poland is among the “most belligerent” of NATO members similar to Baltic countries who have long-standing grievances with Russia.

McAdams asserted that Biden’s statements “let the cat out of the bag” when it comes to DC’s foreign policy desires. Many dissident, non-interventionist foreign policy analysts have long argued that regime change was always on the cards against Russia.

The Executive Director of the RPI is correct that the American Deep State wants Ukraine to fight a “long, protracted war” against Russia that will likely feature heightened sanctions, insertion of foreign proxy forces, and increased military aid to create the conditions for regime change in Russia. This will still exacerbate tensions with Russia, potentially leading the US into an open conflict with it.

Paul alluded to the administration of Dwight Eisenhower deploying military advisers to Vietnam, a move that initially did not look escalatory, but laid the groundwork for future escalations in tensions. These moves were increasingly dialed up and eventually led to the US finally sending troops to Vietnam during the administration of Lyndon B. Johnson.

While the US may not put troops on the ground, for now at least, it will be dumping lots of weapons, providing intel, and using increased sanctions to bring Russia to heel. Even if tensions are contained, Russia will be fully absorbed into the new Eurasian axis that is slowly forming around China, Russia, and India. This would be a major step in ending US hegemony.

Back to Poland. The Eastern Europe country has legitimate historical grievances having been partitioned by Russia and incorporated into its imperial umbrella throughout the past millennia.  However, the Poles, are strong and competent people, can figure out their own security architecture and pact with other countries in Eastern Europe to deter Russia. This can be done without the US’s help.

The US needs to extricate itself from the Russo-Ukrainian conflict and pass it on to Europe, Ukraine, and Russia to handle. This is not America’s fight, and with the current foreign policy class in power in the US, nothing good will come about when it tries to mediate conflict.
