Thanks to Woke Insanity, “Racist “ Rock is Removed From University of Wisconsin Madison Campus

Wokism is thoroughly entrenched in America’s institutions of higher education. One can expect nearly all universities and colleges to take down monuments and references to American historical figures who hold views that go against the strictures of the woke paradigm we currently live in.

Just look at University of Wisconsin’s Madison campus. On August 6, 2021, it removed a 70-ton boulder from its campus after minority students launched complaints that it represented a symbol of “racism.”

In a report by ABC News, the Chamberlain Rock stood at the center of the controversy. The rock was named in honor of Thomas Crowder Chamberlain, geologist and former university president.

The term “n*****head” was commonly used in previous eras to “describe any large dark rock” like the Chamberlain Rock per the Wisconsin State Journal.

In the summer of 2020, the Black Student Union demanded that the rock be taken down. They claimed that the rock represents the campus past history of racism.

“I’m grateful that we have had the opportunity to do this and that the rock will be removed,” the group’s president, Nalah McWhorter declared. “It was our demand, and it was something that we put all the work in for.”

Back in January, university Chancellor Rebecca Blank was in favor of removing the rock. However, to remove the rock, the Wisconsin Historical Society had to first approve the move due to how it was situated within 15 feet of a Native American burial site.

The rock will now be moved to land the university owns  which is close to Lake Kegonsa. Instead, the school announced that it will put up a plaque in Chamberlain Hall to commemorate the former university president.

The boulder will be moved to university-owned land near Lake Kegonsa. The school says it will place a plaque in Chamberlain Hall to honor the former university president instead.

Pretty much all historical figures are fair game for the woke Left’s iconoclastic purges. The ruling class in the US is fully committed to wiping out American history. The easiest way to do so is getting university radicals to gradually chip away at historical artifacts in American universities.

Once beacons of higher learning, universities are now laboratories of culturally leftist groupthink. The Right should strive to defund universities and opt out of them as much as possible. We should not be putting younger generations on the indoctrination conveyor belt.
