Democratic Party enemies of Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene are trying to disqualify her from running for re-election in Georgia’s 14th congressional district.
The Left is using the courts to try to prevent Greene from conducting a re-election bid on the grounds that the Georgia Congresswoman allegedly “incited” an insurrection in the lead up to the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol. In their view, Greene’s behavior makes her unfit to hold office.
The staunch conservative congressional caucus the House Freedom Caucus does not agree with the Left. On April 22, 2022, the HFC released the following statement:
The Left’s attempts to politicize the courts to achieve what they cannot at the ballot box puts America on a dangerous path. Voters have the right to choose their own leaders. The House Freedom Caucus resoundingly condemns the outrageous and baseless effort to subvert the right of voters to determine their representation in Congress by forcibly removing law-abiding conservatives from the ballot.
Democrats are desperate to defeat Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene but can’t do so in a free and fair election, so they have hatched this farcical plot to have her removed from that election entirely.
The voters of Georgia’s 14th Congressional District do not need Democrat-funded attorneys and radical activists to control which candidates they will be allowed to support in the upcoming election.
Given that opposing the certification of electors is not only completely lawful and that many Democrat Members of Congress have done the same in past presidential elections, this attempt is as absurd as it is hypocritical. Furthermore, the determination to force Rep. Greene to testify before the press and be broadcast live exposes this attempt for the partisan circus it is.
We hope that the State of Georgia will swiftly and justly resolve this charade by allowing Rep. Greene to remain on the ballot.
The HFC should be applauded for defending Greene. One need not agree with everything Greene stands for to understand the importance of defending democracy. What’s at stake in Greene’s legal battle is huge. If Democrats succeed in barring Greene from running for re-election, the Deep State will be emboldened to pursue additional efforts to prevent anti-establishment Republican incumbents like Thomas Massie, Lauren Boebert, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar from running for re-election in future elections.
Liberty conservatives should stand behind Greene and make sure that she’s able to run for re-election.
The enemies of freedom cannot be allowed to take a W in this case.
