The Russian Ambassador to the US Pokes Fun of the US for Sending Billions in Military Aid While the Country is Imploding

Misplaced priorities.

Two words that accurately define the United States government’s policy behavior.

So far during the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, the US government has doled out nearly $4 billion in aid to Ukraine. All while US infrastructure is crumbling, the border is overrun by illegal alien invaders, Americans are struggling and crime is rising. As many liberty conservatives already know, the US is in a post-national phase of its history. For the ruling class, the American people are an afterthought.

Most Americans won’t admit that the US is in a dilapidated political state, but the least likely of individuals have caught on to this. Russian ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov had choice words for US policymakers. The Embassy’s Twitter page posted the following:

#Antonov: Total military assistance to Ukraine since the current US administration came to power has exceeded $4 billion. It may be better to use these funds for the needs of ordinary Americans, who are hit by a record high inflation.

On its Facebook page, the Russian Embassy expanded its thoughts on the current situation in Ukraine:

It is obvious that behind Washington’s actions lies a desire by any means to delay the Russian special operation, trying to cause maximum damage to Russia, and to fight until the last Ukrainian. The United States wants to preserve instability in Europe. By doing this, bring Western allies together to maintain the position of the United States in the world arena. Nevertheless, the world is heading towards multipolarity. This fact cannot be ignored.

The conflict in Ukraine and the image of Russia as an external threat are also actively exploited by ruling circles to distract voters from their own failures in state administration and the growing comma of political and socio-economic problems in USA.

All of this points to the idea that the Ukrainian conflict was deliberately provoked by the West. The neighboring country is being used as a military rascal against us. Russia cannot be brought to its knees. Illusion western projects are in the past. It’s time to understand this and respect Russian national interests.

I will emphasize that our special military operation is not directed against Ukrainians. Main goals: protecting the Donetsk People’s Republic and the LPR, neutral and nuclear-free status of Ukraine, demilitarization and denazification of this republic. For our national security, it is important to eliminate threats emanating from Ukrainian territory due to its NATO acquisition. The tasks ahead of us will be completed in full.

Indeed, the Russian ambassador has a point. To be sure, one need not approve of Russia’s military operation to recognize that the US’s foreign policy in Ukraine is making things worse. That said, sober realism must guide American foreign policy in this tumultuous geopolitical moment.

Ukraine occupies no strategic interest for the US. On top of that, US policies, whether it be NATO expansion towards Russia or the proliferation of hostile NGOs in Russia’s historic sphere of influence, have created a massive security dilemma that likely compelled Russia to lash out in a nasty manner back in February.

All told, the US needs to recalibrate. Its primary threats aren’t from external actors. They’re ultimately internal in character. From wokism to open borders, most of the existential threats the US faces are policy woes that are largely self-inflicted.

The US should focus on getting its economic and social house in order, before it gets into another foreign policy boondoggle.
