Thomas Massie Exposes Anti-Freedom Provisions in Russia Bill

Most people don’t realize how sketchy the US Congress is when it comes to passing bills.

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie is one of the few representatives who understand the political game and who is willing to expose the corruption and perfidy that’s dominant in the halls of Congress.

Thomas Massie has shined in the US House during a time when both parties are making belligerent gestures towards Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

Of note, Massie has stood out for his opposition to a sanctions bill that features a very nasty poison pill amendment that would allow the US president “to sanction virtually anyone, anywhere in the world, whether they are connected to Russia or not.”

On March 17, 2022, Massie tweeted, “This was slipped into the Russian sanctions bill on pages 19,20,21. It gives the President broad authority to sanction virtually anyone, anywhere in the world, whether they are connected to Russia or not.

Interventionists at the State Department are doing the happy dance now.”

Massie was not alone in voting against this bill. He noted that House Representatives Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Matt Gaetz (D-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Dan Bishop (R-NC), Chip Roy (R-TX), and Glenn Grothman (R-WI) also voted against this bill. The Kentucky Congressman added

“I voted No along with these seven members who also read the bill.

@RepBoebert

@MattGaetz

@RepAndyBiggsAZ

@RepMTG

@RepDanBishop

@ChipRoyTX

@RepGrothman”

Massie is undoubtedly a contrarian in Congress, something that is desperately needed in an institution that is so thoroughly dominated by groupthink. It’s good to see Massie no longer on an island.

There is a slow, but steadily growing America First caucus, if you will, in the House that’s standing up to the uniparty insanity taking place.

To make this America First caucus a reality, there will need to be more liberty conservatives elected in Congress. At the end of the day, policy change comes down to basic numbers.
